For one of our classes the other week we watched a film about the text typeface Helvetica. This was all pretty new to me. I thought the film wouldn’t be that interesting. But after watching it I can it wa very interesting to see how popular just one kind of type can be in the world.
Nearly every day of our lives we are all Bombarded with Helvetica images. One of the advantages of Helvetica is that it is so easy to read and use for any kind of advertising. On a daily basis we just pass it by without truly observing it.
Here is an image of it being used in advertising for coke. It is pretty effective. It can be seen in any restaurant, bus shelter, publication. It is just everywhere.
Helvetica is one of the most popular typeface’s of all time. It was designed by a Swiss designer. Its name is derived from Helvetia, the Latin name for Switzerland.
