Good Films

Went to see the film HELP there this weekend,  It was great.  It is based on a heart wrenching true story about a coloured woman who was a house maid.  Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends’ lives within a small Mississippi town upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of mostly southern families.

Title: The Help
Movie Year: 2011
Director:  Tate Taylor
Genres: Drama

This film is captivating and holds the viewers interest right through.   There is also a book about this film and the film certainty lives up to book.  I would definitely recommend it.  Its quiet a tear jerker though so have the hankies at the ready!!  It has a few funny elements to it also.  It is just beautiful.  I love the poster for this film.  It shows Skeeter and her best friend Aibileen with their two maids who are the two who originally break the silence.  Change begins with a whisper and that is what happens in this film.  Aibleen is very opinionated and thinks that she is god’s gift and she can treat people like dirt.
